Tie…Win or Lose, Week One

In a rare moment of fashion awareness, I noticed the colorful neck adornments of our NBC Sunday Night Football hosts, Chris “Skeksis” Collinsworth and his unfortunate counterpart Al Michaels. The Taloned One was sporting a Titans-themed blue tie, while the elder Al donned one in Steelers’ black and gold.

The result: not so good for our broadcast booth whipping boy. The Steelers won in OT, 13-10.

So do these guys always wear ties in the competing teams’ colors? Is there some correlation to the game’s outcome? Only time will tell, but for now, it’s Al Michaels bringing the good luck to Thursday Night’s NFL season-opening winner, the defending champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
